What is Additive Manufacturing Research and Innovation group?

 

Additive Manufacturing Research and Innovation Group, EU projects motivated by a mutual interest in the field of Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies, specifically Powder Bed Fusion (PBF), to the specific needs of the industry domain and driven to promote the benefits of European Strategic Actions for AM, under the patronage of the Common Dissemination Booster.

In particular, their common goals are:

  • Stimulate synergies, maximise mutual benefits and map the collaboration path after the project ends
  • Evaluate the impact of the exploitable results from the involved projects
  • Communicate future partnerships and strategies
  • Create a common stakeholders eco-system for AM technologies
  • Provide a suitable background for standardisation and certification needs and good practices in the AM sector

The portfolio of results to be disseminated are:

  • The potential improvement of AM in real manufacturing conditions in terms of productivity, quality and reliability, also using a LCA approach
  • The competitiveness at all steps of the AM supply chain to bring it to a significant step further towards larger industrial scale
  • The achieved results of AM produced parts on relevant end-user test cases.

Demonstrate the superior cost and speed performance of LIFT as a process for AM (3D printing) in two different applications in flexible electronics. Laser Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT)
